Time For Nation-building Our nation is at a critical point in the “War with Iraq,” which I personally believe directly relates to the “War on Terror” we are waging against al Qaeda. Many people around the world think that war is not the answer, and that we need to give the U.N. inspections more time. Mona Charen, a syndicated columnist, provides that “more than a decade of resolutions, reproaches and failed diplomacy have demonstrated, there is no way short of war to remove Saddam or coax him into civilized behavior.” Time is not the answer. If anything it is hurting our cause. Charen points out that we now think those who argued for “peace” with Hitler are fools – rightly so. Not many would argue against that statement this day in age. She quoted Churchill as saying, “One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger.
