Reduce Or Increase Federal Budget For Defense' Reduce or Increase the Federal Budget for Defense' After the Cold War there have been many concerns that the Federal Budget should be increased and many others believe it should be decreased. The thoughts that I come up with are neither. With the Cold War over and Russia going through the financial and military changes it is going through, I think the federal budget should be shifted and rearranged within it. In Russia’s attempt to reduce their nuclear weapons, this will definitely make Russia weaker. But, in the attempt to sell their nuclear weapons, they can possibly be attacking us indirectly depending on who they sell their weapons to. This doesn’t make it a good idea to make too many more defense cuts as we already have since the Cold War ended. One problem reduces as another grows. If Russia sells these weapons to third world countries, this could be dangerous to us due to the fact that the origin of our terrorists is the third world countries. The Third World countries being the origin of the new war, the War on Terrorism, this proposes a different type of defense.
