Two of them are senators, Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin. Both of Michigan’s members of United States Congress belong to the Democratic Party. The U.S. representative that affects me the most is Mike Rogers, of the 8th district. Mike Rogers is part of the Republican Party. All three of these members of Congress work in the government to represent the people. Carl Levin is a very well known politician in Michigan. Currently, his popularity rating is high, with 56 percent of the population holding a positive view towards him, and 19 percent with a negative view. He is currently serving his fifth term as United States Senator. This could be for a number of reasons. First of all, he has a very good history. He was born in 1934 in Detroit, and went on to go to Central High School there. He then graduated from Swarthmore College with honors, and continued to Harvard Law School, where he graduated from in 1959.
