Immigration Immigration' For as long as I can remember there has always been the debate going on whether or not letting people migrate to the United States is good or bad. The debate is always packed with plenty of facts to support both sides of the argument, and with just enough proof to clarify nothing and keep the debate going. If immigration is so bad on the economy in one state than how is it good to help the next state' An in depth look at some immigration facts of past and present might help clear it all up. First of all, the history of immigration is an important point to look at when deciding what is good and bad for the country. Immigration rates have fluctuated dramatically over the years. At the turn of the century though there were nearly 1,000,000 newcomers to the United States. Then in 1940 the rate was at a low stage with only 100,000 immigrants coming into the country but it would not stay at this low point. At present day we are nearing back to the 1,000,000 point again.
