Gun Control Gun Control "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms,"said Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding fathers. This statement without question cannot be argued. While there has been many problems with guns in the United States, the owning of weapons have saved and preserved our freedom. "Gun control is the attempt to curb the sale and possession of guns in America in an effort to reduce violent crime"(Gun Control). By many it is interpreted as an attack on their Constitutional Rights. Guns have been a major problem in the United States, but an overall ban on Guns would do no good. Many weapons are not needed on the streets of America. In society today there is an increasing number of deaths by guns. In response to gun violence, both Federal and State Governments have been prompted to take action. Many different bills proposed by anti-gun groups have been passed but there is still many more bills that have been knocked down with the outstanding power of the NRA, the main lobby group that is pro-gun.
