He is the author of the best-selling, The Death of Common Sense: How Law Is Suffocating America. He was Special Advisor to the SEC Task Force on Regulatory Simplification in 1996 and 1997, and has advised numerous federal agencies and state governors on regulatory reform issues. He received a Junior Degree from the University of Virginia in 1974 where he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Virginia Law Review. He received a B.A., with honors, from Yale University in 1970.
