Campaign Finance Refrorm Campaign Finance Reform Campaign finance reform has been a hot topic for the past couple of years. Many large corporations, unions and individuals contribute enormous sums of money to political parties and election campaigns. These donations are referred to as soft money. Last year the Senate, and just recently the House of Representatives passed a bill that would put an end to soft money contributions to national parties. Supporters of the bill claim that banning large unlimited political donations would restore a somewhat level playing field to elections. Today it seems the candidate with the most money gets the most votes. Many politicians pay for their campaigns with money they receive from either corporations or someone with a vested interest in that particular candidate getting into office.
