Political scientists have isolated a number of attributes associated with voter turnout including age, income and education. Scientists have proven that income plays a huge part in voter turnout. People who make more money seem to have the higher amount of voters, then does someone who only makes $10000 or less a year. Education and income levels are connected. Usually people with a higher income rate have a better education, therefore believing there vote makes a difference. The lower income citizens have a sense of pessimism, and no matter what they do, it will not make a bit of difference.
Age has a desperate impact on voter turnout. People between the ages of 18-29 are less likely to vote then do older ages. Most voters around 18-24 are unable to vote because of registration. One main reason for a low voting turnout is lack of interest. While people were growing up they were never taught the importance of politics.
Education and age do contribute to the explanation of why there has been a steady decline in the voter turn out since 1960. Education threw out the schools has changed drastically since the
