Howl By Alen Ginsberg Allen Ginsberg was one of the most renowned, and admired poets in contemporary literature. Allen was known for his antiwar movements, and a founding member of the Beat Generation. Ginsberg is best known for his poem Howl a long poem attacking American values of the 1950s. The style of Jack Kerouac, William Carlos Williams, William Blake, Walt Whitman, and the teachings of Buddhism were major inspirations for his search to promote freedom of expression.
