Teenage Mothers Teenage Mothers: An Uprising Epidemic My father was the result of a teen pregnancy. His parents were at the age of 18 when they had their first child. Many times he told me that his childhood might have been healthier if his parents were older. He thinks they would have had more maturity, experience, and abilities to raise their children better. My father never said that his upbringing was horrible or his parents were at fault. He just stated it would have been easier on the whole family if they were more stable in their relationship and of course financially. My parents were 27 and 25 years old when they had my older brother, Kyle. One year later, I was born. I believe that they were ready and able to have us. My father had a secure job and my mother knew a great deal about having children. Not only did they know they were going to have us, they were prepared. I think being prepared and having financial stability helped my brother and I experience a healthy childhood. My parents both agreed to not have children until they thought they were children, teen, parents, mothers, having, child, likely, pregnancy, one, important, year, think, relationship, prepared, money, married, life, just, first, father, been, age, 50%, years, women, upbringing, until, twice, times, teens, teenage, spent, school, role, risk
