Museum Project Museum of choice: Philadelphia Art Museum Art Piece #1 Title: Cat playing with 2 dogs Artist: Dutch (active the Hague, Delft, and, Amsterdam Medium: Oil on Canvas Year made: 1652 Gallery work located: European Art 1500-1550 This piece when I saw it hanging up struck me as being hilarious. The nature of how the 2 dogs were depicted as they were playing with the cat made me come to the conclusion that the artist had pets of their own. The way the cat was playing with the dog reminded me of the times my cats and dogs played with one another. The painting really brought a smile to my face. I can’t tell you how many times they played with each other. Every time that they do it is something to see. They roll on the floor, they run around the house, and all I do is sit and laugh. These were some good times. It’s funny, even though my cats are smaller than my dogs they still put up a good fight. I believe that the myth of dogs and cats hating each other is old.
