Evaluation

Evaluation Bench Mark: We learn new skills in each project which we are then able to apply in future assignments no mather what they are. In this project I learned how to stretch a canvas, a skill which I will use in all future paintings, and also how to create very emotional work through color. Up until this unit I thought landscape painting was a boring and lesser art, but this unit helped me see that color can make anything exciting. Essential Quesiton: How can color create emotion' First of all color combinations, such as those we learned through our color theory unit, can really add excitement to your painting. In mine I used split complimentary colors, colors which appear on opposite sides of the color wheel. I painted the sky blue, and then added yellow to the curtains. I made the hills green, and the curtains red. The cow is white, while the sleeve is black. These contrasts create excitement since complimentarty colors make eachother appear brighter and stand out more. I also used analogous colors. The blue in the sky and the purlple sleeve are analogous, meaning that they appear next to each other on the color wheel.
