My Neighborhood Before And After The Events Of September 11th My Neighborhood Before and After the Events of September 11th September 11th was a big shock to the United States. No one was expecting it. Everyone had their TV channels set to see what was going to happen next. After the two planes hit the World Trade Centers, a plane landed in Pittsburgh, and the buildings collapsed- a war started. Our whole country was scared. People were scared to fly in an airplane because of the tragedy on the 11th of September. In my neighborhood, people are more patriotic, they all watch the news for the updates on the war and are also looking at life a little differently and change their way of characterizing a hero because of how many lives were lost and after the events of the 11th. Because of the September 11th tragedy, the United States of America is more united than ever. Almost everyone in my town has American flags flying out front or attached to their cars.
