Presidential Debates
In debate one the focus was mainly on Homeland Security and Foreign Policy. Senator Kerry, starts it off by implying President Bush sent more than $500 billion to help with security overseas but cut our COPS program here in the United States. Kerry feels that Bush is not concerned with our security. Bush then reminds Kerry that he has spent $3.1 billion on fire and police. Kerry also brought up the tax cut that Bush gave to the wealthy rather than to invest it into Homeland Security. Bush did not have any reply to the tax cut. In the third debate they went back to security issues that dealt with people coming across the border. They wanted to knowhow bush felt about it whether or not it was a security issue, economic issue, or human-rights issue. Bush sees it as all three issues, in order to fix the problem he has increased border security.
The second issue in debate one is When will the war end', and When will our troops come home' Kerry wants to say that if he is elected he will be able to pull some troops out. Bush on the other hand finds that to be
