Dyslexic Students For a dyslexic student, school or academic activities present the biggest challenge. David Raymond went through a lot of hard times throughout his childhood because of dyslexia. He eventually suffered from low self-esteem. Before David knew that he was dyslexic; he felt he was dump and at times he just wanted to die. He always needed help with his homework or writing activities and his mom was always there to help him in whatever she was able to do. Being surrounded by people with the same condition helps to feel more comfortable. When David was sent to a camp with children with dyslexia he felt better. David Raymond did not feel dump anymore. He even got an I.Q higher than 90 percent. This shows that he was more confident and his performance at schools was better. He realized that the teachers really cared about him, even though he still had to go through embarrassing moments.
