These groups are the working, middle, and upper class. All three groups are present in the United States. Perhaps the upper class feels it has more power over the “inferior” classes. The middle class seems to feel the same way about the lower class. These feelings can be seen in the things people wear, how they act, and most importantly how they speak. The language of the upper class seems to be more developed and educated. They use bigger words than other classes. Do they do this for any particular reason' Does this give them greater self-esteem' Maybe it makes them feel more powerful than the lower classes. In the movie Cruel Intentions, the wealthy characters’ speech is much more eloquent and enriched.
