$2.3 Million Bargain The 2.3 million dollar bargain is an article that appeared on the CNN/Money website. The author, Chris Isidore, a senior writer, explains that any advertisers should be happy to write a check for nearly 2.3 million dollars for 30 seconds air time during the peak of the Super Bowl. As Isidore points out, that is 75,000 dollars per second. During last years game the top spots sold for 2.1 million. When this number is put into a formula (CPM) to find the amount paid for each one thousand viewers, it comes to a bargain, only $23.70 per one thousand consumers. This is much less than most sources of advertising. For example, Isidore says, that NBC is going to charge 2 million dollars for a thirty second ad during the series finale of the show “Friends”. The final show is expected to draw about 10-15 percent less viewers than this years Super Bowl. Isidore states, the cheapest an advertisers can get a thirty second spot during prime time will be about 10 dollars per 1000 thousand viewers. This cheap advertising will come during a low rated show. Also, advertisers are unsure if viewers of show such as “Friends” are even watching during, super, bowl, million, isidore, game, ad, viewers, show, second, percent, overtime, one, dollars, advertisers, ads, years, thousand, thirty, sold, per, even, commercials, bargain, about, 23, twenty, time, spots, said, price, people, pay, nearly, less, friends
