Romeo and Juliet - Movie Romeo & Juliet Italian Renaissance was an extremely decorative time period, with elaborate fashion fabrics. There was a vast amount of velvet and linens that were highly decorated with embroidery as well as many different colors. These fabrics were not only used to decorate the body, but they were also used in making decorative living areas. For example in the movie Romeo and Juliet, Juliet’s room had cream colored linen used as drapery placed around her room. This fabric separated specific areas within the room as well as gave some decorative compliments to the space. Embroidery was also seen in the boarder of the linen that was in Juliet’s room. This added intricate detail to the textile so that the fabric would add a more decorative look to the room. Moving on to the clothing of those in the movie you see many differences in costumes and colors as well as variation. There was a definite difference in class by way of clothing to show the separation between the two.
