Red Dragon VS Silence Of The Lambs Red Dragon VS. Silence of the Lambs In both movies The Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon there are many similarities and differences. The Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon are both part of a trilogy. The Silence of the Lambs was the first to be released and Red Dragon was the last, however Red Dragon is a prequel to movie because the events and time take place prior to The Silence of the Lambs. A few good comparison points of the two movies are main characters, plot, and actors. In The Silence of the Lambs most of the scenes take place in a mental institution where the main character Hannibal Lector is held captive. Hannibal gives the FBI information on the serial killer Buffalo Bill. In the Red Dragon film Hannibal is not yet in the institution. Instead of helping the FBI, the FBI is after him. Hannibal, being a very well educated man, plays with the FBI until he is caught. Therefore, most of the movie takes place outside of the asylum where in The Silence of the Lambs the asylum is the main scene.
