Media On Sex Middle aged and young women have been dragged to therapy by their husbands, who seem extremely upset at their wives because of their lack of orgasms. Psychologists and sex experts are not 100 percent positively sure of the reasons, nor why does this occur. However they did give this problem a name, FSD. The definition for FSD is Female Sexual Dysfunction. Sex experts in 1998 at the International Consensus Development Congerence of Female Sexual Dysfunction explained a better understanding of FSD, a new classification system for women’s sexual problem. They divided FSD into four disorders that cause personal distress, briefly defined as: 1) Desire disorder, a persistent absence of desire for sexual activity. 2) Arousal disorder, a persistent inability to attain or maintain sufficient sexual excitement. 3) Orgasm disorder, a persistent difficulty, delay or absence of orgasm after sufficient stimulation. 4) Pain disorder, a persistent genital pain associated with sexual activity. Hoping that this break down would give more understanding towards FSD, it caused more confusion. Dennis Surgue, PhD, a past-president of the American Association of Sex Educators, counselors and therapists, explains how a man’s predictable sex is a model of desire arousal and orgasm.
