Rainmaker Rainmaker The Rainmaker is a movie that takes the viewer on the ride with a lawyer during his first trial. This is not only his first trial, but this is his first experience as a lawyer. Rudy is newly hired into a firm with one of his first cases being a “Rainmaker.” He gets involved with this family he met at a workshop that was held The University of Memphis. He commits to help the family because an insurance company is scamming them. Their policy has been denied on several occasions because the company claims they don’t cover the bone marrow transplant procedure that the young man needs. Rudy eventually wins the case, but not without his share of shadiness. Rudy’s claim to being a lawyer is that he wants to clean up the game and give the people a lawyer that they can trust. Rudy does the best he can but he has to play hardball because a crafty veteran lawyer that knows ever trick in the book opposes him.
