Alfred Hitchcock The Rope The movie rope is based on a real life incident that occurred. It is basically about two young men who commit a murder just to see what it's like. The plot line revolves around the men committing the murder and their old school teacher becoming suspicious of the crime. Alfred Hitchcock used a lot of different tactics in this movie to make it suspenseful. The movie wasn’t really frightening, I don’t think its main objective was to frighten people. However I think that the movie was really suspenseful and there were a number of different things that helped add to the suspense. The whole atmosphere in general helped create a suspenseful mood throughout the movie. There was a great use of music in this film which helped add to the suspense of the movie as well. There was music leading up to significant events and both the volume of the music and the tune would change depending on which part of the movie it was. The music was well adapted to the different scenes and it really helped add to the whole mood of the film. The film wouldn’t be as suspenseful without the music.
