Movie Comparison
In the movie, Indians of California and One Million Years, B.C. compared to our living styles and culture are very different from the way we live today. The communication, teaching, and the way people are treated are some of the examples how cultures differ from other cultures. In every social group, culture is transmitted from one generation to the next and is taught and learned through social interaction.
The Indians of California was a materialistic tribe. The males did the hunting for the tribe and would hunt for animals for food and fur. At a young age, the males were taught how to make weapons for hunting. The females would cook, clean, and make things, such as blankets with the fur and baskets that were made out straw.
In the movie, One Million Years, B.C. there were two different tribes. One of the tribes was considered to be non-materialistic and the other tribe to be materialistic. The non-materialistic tribe had no respect for each other and there was no communication at all. The males would fight over food and for the females.
