The villain is very creepy, he works his way into the head of a Secret Service agent named Horrigan, played by Clint Eastwood. The creep, who likes to play mind games with his opponents, makes a series of telephone calls threatening to assassinate the president, a federal offense. He chooses Horrigan because he knows the agent still feels guilty about failing to save the life of John F. Kennedy thirty years ago. The killer, Mitch, and is an intelligent, twisted man who uses disguises and an appealing manner to get close to the president. Without trouble, Malkovich's assassin is the best thing about this solid thriller. He definitely makes this movie a thriller. Malkovich’s efforts in Con Air are proof that John can be a very scary actor.
