Enemies Of War Movie Review: “Enemies of War” “Enemies of War” is a movie that covers the case of El Salvador. This Latin-American country was has been struck with poverty throughout its history. During the 1980s it endured on a brutal civil war that was ignored in the global arena. Women and children died during this atrocious period of history in which the army ended up killing more than 75,000 civilians in the countryside of El Salvador. This movie is one that shocked the world. It is a movie that presents the immense suffering through which civilians had to go through in El Salvador in order to live in a state of peace. . The film examines the horrendous murders of six Jesuit priests and the subsequent political and social ramifications as seen through the eyes of a Salvadoran family, a United States congressman, an ex-ambassador and an American priest. A civilian named Margarita Acosta de Alas explains how her husband Rigoberto fought with the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN) rebels.
