In the beginning of her oration, Mother Teresa read from the bible about what Jesus wants from people, i.e. love and peace. These themes were clear throughout each argument in her speech, as Mother Teresa spread the message that we must all “love until it hurts.” The prayer in the beginning of Mother Teresa’s speech set a very emotional tone, which was used to persuade the audience into her point of view on various topics. One of her arguments was that a person should love everybody, including enemies, “until it hurts.” She believes that Jesus Christ died because of his love for all people. He also wanted to save everyone from selfishness. When he died on the cross, he spread the message that each person should love all people, including enemies. In her speech, Mother Teresa explained that these are the reasons that we should love all people, because of everything that Jesus did for the people.
