Cod Problem As a member of the Canadian Council of Professional Fish Harvester the action plan that was created at the Task Force is pretty feasible. There are some parts of the action plan that could realistically happen and then there are some parts that most likely would not be able to happen. The idea of the unemployed fishermen getting first tickets to be able to fish is a great idea. Since they lost their jobs from the moratorium they should get first dibs. When these fishermen go back to fishing 33 % of them can fish cod, 33 % can fish other species and the other 33 % of them can be split up between cod and other depending on the count on the fish. The fact that the fishermen can only fish 27 000 metric tonnes of fish a year is a little low. A little more fish would be better for the fishermen and better for the economy. The fishermen that fish other species are supposed to get money from the government for new equipment.
