And the primary reason for being biased is that I hail from the Malwa region, which is totally dependant upon the mercy of Narmada for its yearly water needs. With the supreme courts landmark verdict in favor of the sardar sarovar dam this issue becomes all the more gripping. The reason for selecting this particular article out of the host of other ones available on the same topic in this magazine is that instead of criticizing or rather commenting on the follies it tries to go deeper into the subject and questions the very fundamental needs of man to use water resources in the most efficient way.
