Discuss And Give Examples From Literature Of Initiation, Literary Epiphany And Static/dymanic Characters. Three important literary concepts discussed in literature include initiation, literary epiphany and static/ dynamic characters. An initiation is generally with a young person. It involves them learning important truths about life. It is like a maturation into adulthood. It is becoming wiser. A literary epiphany is when truth is revealed to the character. This is a single event that is like a light being shed on a part of the characters life or thoughts. A static character is one that does not change through the story through the story psychologically, emotionally or spiritually. These concepts are demonstrated in the following short stories. First, initiation is demonstrated in "And of Clay we are Created." Rolfe is the character that undergoes initiation. He is not a typical initiation character. He is older, maybe 35 or 40, but has never learned how to truely love or have faith. A little girl named Lily is the catalyst that helps him become initiated into life. She shows him what it means to love and have faith.
