Getting Up Early for School Getting Up Early In the early 1940’s the Long Branch School District voted to consolidate with the Carthage Independent School District. The Carthage school system has always provided bus tramsportation to the studnets in the rural areas of the county. One problem of this serivce was that the kids who lived a greater distance from the schools had to get up awfully early to catch the bus. Our school bus picked us up at 6:30 a.m. and we did not get to school until 8:00. We some of the school, bus, dinner, ones, long, lived, early, district, country, always, voted, until, tramsportation, misbehave, think, when, students, house, system, supper, starving, something, someone, serivce, schools, rural, route, ride, provided, problem, pm, picked, opportunities, off, mother, made, lot, leftover, last, kids, invites, home, had, greater, getting, first, eat, early, distance
