Discuss how prejudice and discrimination can form a vicious cycle. What do you think might be some effective ways of attempting to improve contemporary American race relations'
Prejudices and discrimination form a cycle by aiding each other. When prejudices are voiced that become the expected truth of the minority group in question. Therefore in turn, that particular group may be discriminated upon because of what is expected of them. So the group seeing that there is little offered because little is expected tends to fall into this cycle of inferiority. For instance, there are prejudices related to promoting young adults for higher-level positions. Some top-level executives feel that they are not dependable and stable which leads to discriminating against them. In turn, that person may feel that there is no need to try to excel because they have been stereotyped.
