Learning Strategies Lesson Ideas 1. Rectangle Fun: Students will each be given a pair of glasses where the lenses are shaped like rectangles, the teacher will draw a rectangle on the board, students will look at their glasses as a reminder of the shape. Each student will look around the room and try and locate 2 more rectangles. They will all draw their own rectangle. After this is completed each student will share with the class where one on the rectangles is found in the room. This is suited for 1st or 2nd grade. 2. Learning Animals: Each student will be given the name of a barnyard animal. The will write down 5 words that describes the animal. Then they will tell each word to the class, and the class will decide together which animal they are describing. This is suited for 1st of 2nd grade. 3. Learning Signs: Each student will be given a picture of a stop sign and a walk sign. The teacher will explain the importance of knowing what the stop sign and walk sign mean, in case they need to cross the street.
