JFK John Fritzgerald Kennedy John Kennedy was the first U.S. president that was born in the 20th Century and was the 35th president. Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusettes on May 29, 1917. In High school he was voted most likely to succeed. In 1947 Kennedy was elected into the House of Representatives and served for 6 years. His father was one of the richest men in America and in 1953 his father arranged his election into the senate and Kennedy served for the senate for 7 years. He then ran for president against his opponent Richard Nixon along with the help of the public television debates Kennedy won the election. He was also the youngest president elected and the only Roman Catholic president.
