Classroom Management Seminar Only being in the classroom for a few weeks, I am already very aware of the fact that routines help the students transition and the school day run much more smoothly. I feel that establishing classroom routines is a very important past of classroom management. The following routines are few I plan to implement in my own classroom. There are several tasks throughout each school day that will need routines that are established and constant. Class-running routines are very important. Each task can take up a lot of valuable instruction time if not thought through and planned for. When children enter the classroom each morning there will be a message on the board to them from me. A good morning greeting and something that I will ask them to do while the morning tasks are being completed. They may be asked to read silently, turn in homework from the preceding night, or write in personal reflection journals about their goals for the day. I might give a writing prompt for this or just allow them to free-write.
