Great Depression The Great Depression was a devastating time for many people. There were many lost jobs and homes. The time frame was from about 1929 until approximately 1939. There were many events leading up to the depression and many outcomes. The actual date of the events or what the exact causes were are different depending on what books you read or whom you ask. Throughout this paper I will discuss the actual definition of depression and the events that occurred. Within the overview of the events there are specifics which will be discussed. I will look at the business problems of the time and how they affected the citizen’s of the United States. Along with these business problems was the farm crisis in the west. This may not have been a cause of the depression but it did increase the difficulties of the nation. Throughout this paper I will go over the causes and the consequences of the Great Depression. One of the most important parts of this paper; I think I what President Franklin D. Roosevelt accomplished thoughout his Presidency.
