John Hinkley Jr. John Hinckley, Jr. John Hinckley, Jr. was born the youngest of three children on May 29, 1955 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. As a kid his father, Jack, and his mother, Jo Ann, moved from place to place every couple of years. John came from a very wealthy family, which always lived in expensive houses in well-developed neighborhoods. Throughout his childhood John developed a very close relationship with his mother and would be the perfect definition of a “momma’s boy.” She was always at home with him because his father was to busy with his oil business. John never did anything that pleased his father, at least he never heard his father say he was pleased. As a child John resented his father and as he grew older the resentment turned to hatred. The last time that his father had even hugged him was when he was three years old. John was a very quiet and bashful who spent most of his time alone in his room listening to music and reading.
