Economics Work Sheet Reading Between the Lines 1. The external forces that created a need for change were economic changes and the marketplace. The economy slowed down and the market place got more compatible as there were more similar magazines coming out. The internal forces were the modification of an organization’s strategy and to minimize costs. I think it’s a white-water rapids because the changes are not permanent and the company will keep on changing with time. 2. The workers were not as enthusiastic about the changes as the CEO was. They wanted to keep on doing things the way they always did it, even thou they knew this were not the best or the cheapest way to do things. 3. That is because the change replaces the known with an uncertainty.
