Racism And Economics There are many different forms of discrimination and each other these forms have different names. Generally when most people hear the word “discrimination” they think of racism, sexism, and possibly ageism as well as homophobia. However, there are many other kinds that most likely do not come to mind. The first word that usually comes to mind when someone mentions discrimination is the word “racism.” Racism is the discrimination on the basis of race and many people have the belief that it is still a huge problem in our country. Another big form of discrimination in our country is sexism, which is the discrimination on the basis of sex. While this problem is very slowly getting better, the fact of the matter is that in most situations there are still questions into just how equal, especially in the job market, things are between men and woman. There is also ageism and this form of discrimination is based on age, generally against the elderly and the young.
