Coca-Cola As The Symbol Of America When looking at the Coke bottle we do not realize that the same bottle has been held by our grandparents when they were our age. We do not realize as well that the beverage we are drinking has been formulated about 116 years ago. Today, as well as years back, Coke has been a cultural symbol of American people to other countries around the world. I can relate to that because I come from another country and I did see how the American lifestyle was being sold under the name of Coca-Cola. Being an all-American product gave Coca-Cola the power to create a certain image of American society and culture through its commercials. It created a certain picture in my mind of American people. America became the most desirable place to live on the whole planet. Ads painted it as a land-of-plenty and great opportunity where everyone smiles to everyone and lives in a beautiful house in the suburbia. Today I know that those images we see through commercials are not always true.
