Globalization process

The purpose of this paper is to better analyze the globalization process of multinational corporations, especially Asian enterprises. At the same time, in view of the limitations of Thomas Friedman's theory of Globalization 3.0 - with the advent of the Internet era, the individual's role in global driving forces is too exaggerated, and the considerations of various factors in the process of globalization are too simple. Therefore, this article has carried on the thorough analysis and the expansion to Thomas Friedman's theory. In addition, for Tulder's triangular globalization theory model, this theory takes stakeholders into account, as well as non-market factors, but from the perspective of transnational corporations, the theory also has some limitations, because after all, the main purpose of transnational corporation investment is to improve the efficiency of the company's operation and obtain higher returns, rather than simply to serve the community or promote local economic development. Therefore, in order to better analyze the investment behavior of multinational enterprises, this paper synthesizes the two theories and verifies the theory through empirical research.
This paper focuses on the globalization process of multinational corporations, especially Asian enterprises. The use of literature is to acquire relevant theoretical knowledge. This paper mainly uses two aspects of theoretical knowledge. First, Thomas Friedman's global 3.0 theoretical model. The theory divides the process of globalization into three great times: the first (global version 1.0), the beginning of world trade from Columbus, when globalization was expanded by the power of "nations". National resources and strength determine the process of globalization; Second Age (Global version 2.0)-this period is "transnational corporations "play an important role in globalization, these corporations carry out transnational activities mainly to seek resources and technology; The third Age (Global version 3.0)-the era of globalization will be individualistic, and with the advent of the information age, marked by the Internet, everything will be digitized, virtualized, and automated. The individual becomes an important driving force for globalization; However, the authors are doubtful of the global 3.0, because the environment of the whole world is complex and the culture, the law, the system are different in each country. In the face of these problems, it is very difficult for individuals to face challenges, especially in the area where both national and enterprise advantages are strong, because of the individual management level, the ability to resist risk, the international management consciousness has the big disparity compared with the request to carry out the transnational management. These are the obstacles to the development of individual internationalization and outward investment. And the second is Tulder's triangular globalization model, which is a market-state-society model that takes stakeholders into account, that is, social factors. The model also argues that multinationals will encounter non-market barriers when investing abroad, thus complementing Friedman's theory of globalization 3.0. However, the one-sidedness of this theoretical model lies in the independence of state and social factors. But globalization can be better explained by combining the two models.
In addition, the author's research in the empirical part verifies the theoretical basis. The empirical part adopts the descriptive statistical method. The biggest challenge of this method comes from the reliability and comprehensiveness of data. Otherwise, there will be errors in empirical research. But the author has not completely avoided this problem. The author adopts the cross-sectional data. Compared with panel data, cross-sectional data are more prone to omission. The data category is enterprise data, the source is secondary data, but these data are suitable for the research object. The article holds that the top 500 countries in the world mainly cooperate in the three broad regions of the triad, not in the global region, and that the non-developed economies mainly invest in the home region. Therefore, if a less developed country wants to participate in the economic activities of globalization, it is necessary to vigorously attract the investment of enterprises in developed countries. Only by absorbing the technological advantages of enterprises in developed countries and enhancing their management capabilities, can it be possible to better participate in the process of globalization. This paper can give readers a deeper understanding of the two theoretical models, and also provide very good suggestions for enterprises in developing countries on how to speed up the process of globalization.
2, The problem is the analysis of the motives of developing countries' foreign direct investment-take China as an example. In the book <Multinational Companies and Global Economy> (1993), Dunning classifies the motivations of FDI by multinational enterprises into four categories: market seeking, resource seeking, efficiency seeking and strategic resource seeking. Therefore, according to this theory, we can divide the participation of developing countries’ enterprises in the process of globalization into four hypotheses: 1. We can assume that there are market-seeking motives for China's outward FDI. 2. Suppose that China's foreign direct investment has resource seeking motivation. 3, Assuming efficiency seeking is one of the driving forces of China's foreign direct investment. 4. Suppose that China's foreign direct investment has the motive of seeking strategic resources.
This paper uses the data of A-share listed companies in China from 2003 to 2015. According to orisis database, we can determine which outward direct investment activities exist in A-share listed companies in China. The tax level of the host country, the degree of opening to the outside world, strategic resources and labor cost data come from the World Bank database. The enterprise's own scale, intensity and so on comes from the wind database. Logit model is used to analyze the FDI behavior of Chinese enterprises. The Chinese enterprises' outward FDI behavior is the dependent variable, while others are the explanatory variable
