Some contradictions are also observed in the article. However, they did not mention the details that triggered foreign policy. In the whole article, the author adopts a subjective tone to attack Putin and defend the United States in an almost personal way. Negative and emotional words such as corruption, undemocratic, belligerent, poor performance, autocracy, anti Americanism, anti liberalism, radical nationalism and aggression (pp. 167-169) are used to describe Putin and the Russian government, encourage stereotypes and further reduce the objectivity of the article. At the end of the article, the author suggests to continue to implement tougher sanctions against Russia rather than taking more constructive and mitigation measures. This makes readers question their writing motivation.
