 It is quite astonishing to find out the bias against people because of their skin color, gender and sexuality, and some people have to suffer from their own internalized bias. Colorism: Colorism means prejudices and discriminations attached to certain skin colors, and the skin color can be easily identified because it is a visual fact (Tharps). The light-skin privilege attached can significantly influence people’s social status and opportunity for success. Actually, colorism is also a common phenomenon in China. Light skin is considered as an important factor of beauty, and people with dark skin are discriminated.

Internalized sexism: Internalized sexism is about how women comply with the negative stereotypes of women in the society (Chemaly). Many women are taught to accept the gender bias against themselves and internalize it as their own worldview. This can impede their self-esteem and their desire to fight against gender inequality.

Internalized homophobia: Internalized homophobia is a term used to describe the anxiety and low self-esteem of homosexual people when struggling with their own identity (O'Hara). Some homosexual people cannot accept who they are because of the social values they believe. They are faced with constant pressure from internal and external world.

2) I believe these types of behaviors exist because people are saturated by belittling messages and images since they were born. They are taught by their family and the society to live a life that is in line with social values.
