In addition, Harry warns Julie to integrate into the team. Also, Harry can affect and control other colleagues’ attitudes and behaviors in the team. Totally, the team is controlled by Harry and everyone should listen to Harry. In fact, the team is dominated by one experienced person, Harry, and he largely decides the team performance because he has worked in the organization for a long time. To some extent, the team can not work in an effective way because of one’s interference (Turkalj, 2009). For other colleagues in the team, they are trying to adapt to the current situation instead of changing it.

Analysis of the Practice of Harry Main

In the case, Harry, who is neither the supervisor nor an expert in the human resources management area, can create such huge influences to the team even the whole organization. And this comes from the personal influences of Harry in the organization. With regard to the work experience, Harry has worked in the International insurance company for several years and he has some experience in the team. Step by step, Harry becomes more and more confident when communicating with other colleagues in the team even if he is not the best one in the whole organization. With respect to the organizational participation, Harry usually tries his best to take part in the organizational decision-making process. In the process, Harry creates quite deep impression to other colleagues in the team. At the same time, senior managers in the organization would pay attention to Harry in a corresponding way. As to the daily communication, Harry usually talks to influential people in the public area like the cafeteria. Definitely, Harry will establish strong personal position towards other colleagues in the team.

There are also other sources and tactics of power that can create huge influences in the whole organization. On one hand, the good relationship with senior managers in the organization can definitely improve one’s personal image towards other colleagues because of his social network in the organization (Furnham, 2004). On the other hand, the informal group can create quite huge influences to the organization. Sometimes, the power of the informal group even can affect the organizational decisions to a large extent. In addition, the personal charm also is a source for the organizational power in some occasions.

Strategies for Solving the Current Conflict Situation

From analysis of the case, it can be seen that the international human resources management team is in a quite conflicting situation. In order to improve the team performance, the whole organization should take corresponding measures to decrease the organizational influences of these people like Harry.

From the perspective of the team recombination, the ASACURA International can change the current structure of the international human resources management team. On one hand, it should combine experienced colleagues with new entrants so as to make good use of experience and passion (Mestdagh, 2003). On the other hand, it should allocate different colleagues with different culture backgrounds to the international human resources management team and it can deal with the multiple culture issues in an effective and efficient way. The personal performance evaluation can increase the work enthusiasm of employees in a positive way. In addition, it can obtain objective estimation of one employee from others in the team. Also, the team recombination may take a large amount of time and energy (Madjid, 2013).
