Tests should be used properly in our public K-12 school system because it allows educational administrators to identify weaker students and extra resources can be used to help such students and their academic performance can be improved in this way. There is a need of testing but it should be made sure that test are used accurately and it can be said that proper use of test make it effective and students performance can be found out through testing. It should be mentioned here that when test are used to make decision about student promotion to the next class it should be made sure that test only addresses all the skills that students got opportunity to learn throughout the academic year. Some of the researchers believe that students should be provided with multiple opportunities if incase they could achieve the desired result at first attempt.  Students should be fully aware of the test purposes and they should know they will be promoted to the next class on the basis of the test result

Once again it should be mentioned that test should be fair and the test result can be used for promoting students to next grade when they have been provided a real opportunity to learn all the materials included in test. It can be said testing can be used as a medium that quality education are provided to the students and they are learning effectively.
