States should implement gun control

近年来，随着枪支血案的发生率越来越高，这已经成为了一个激烈的话题，是否应该进行枪支管制，以创造一个没有枪支暴力的社会。枪支不应该被作为生活中的一部分，枪支管制，无疑是为建立一个和平的社会。毫无疑问，我个人赞成后一种观点，即：应该在整个国家进行枪支管制。

I. Introduction

Higher and higher is the frequency of the incidence of gun deaths in recent years, currently it has been a heated topic as for whether gun control should be conducted in order for the creation of a society without gun violence. Whenever it comes to the idea that gun control should not be conducted as guns are actually the representation of civil rights which has been well ingrained in almost every person’s mind, a negative voice will always cry out that gun control should undoubtedly be conducted for the establishment of a peaceful society. There is no doubt that I am personally in favor of the latter opinion that gun control should definitely be conducted along the whole nation, which will be elaborately discussed in the following. 

II. Gun control should be strictly conducted for the decrease of gun deaths. 

First and foremost comes that gun control should be strictly conducted for the decrease of gun deaths. It has been found that the prevalence of gun ownership has resulted in a surprising number in gun deaths of human beings, which has to a certain degree resulted in panic among the great majority of human beings and they are worried that they may be shot by a gun unexpectedly (Roleff, 2007, p. 203). Blankly speaking, all human beings tend to own a gun and they will use gun to protect themselves while they may in the meantime kill or injure others. It is recorded that gun violence has actually been a major contributor of high death rate in America and many people are injured or killed by gun annually. Moreover, the high incidence of gun death has made many children be influenced by gun violence and they have known that they are endangered at any time due to the existence of gun even since their early childhood. At the same time, the high incidence of gun assassination and shooting rampage has indicated the urgent necessity of gun control (Henderson, 2000, p. 297). Or maybe it can be put in another way that only when gun control is strictly implemented can gun assassination and shooting rampage be prevented more or less so as to get human beings rid of the risk of being shot at an unexpected time period. Therefore, human beings can live without panic from being shot by gun and they can really live a happy life ever since. 

III. Gun control should be strictly conducted in order for the prevention of unrestrained freedom of guns. 

With the execution of gun control for the decrease of gun deaths being mentioned at length in the above, what comes next at the list is that gun control should be strictly conducted in order for the prevention of unrestrained freedom of guns. Most people have argued that the unrestrained freedom of guns has led to many unnecessary deaths of human beings as they are killed for careless reasons. And the over-use of guns has in the meanwhile increased the incidence of unnecessary deaths. Under such condition, human beings hold that the best state is the balance between owning guns freely and giving up guns forever (Karr, 2007, p. 226). If the fact can really develop in that way, then the number of guns used will be well controlled and human beings can all use guns whenever it is necessary. We can have a fair knowledge that human beings will have a smaller opportunity to use guns for some non-emergency situations due to their being not available to guns at a certain time. That is to say, the implementation of gun control can actually realize a state that guns can help protect human beings but will not cause damage to others. To put it more specifically, guns, under organized control, are for the protection of human beings as people tend to be afraid of the almighty power of guns so that they may just use guns as tools to intimidate others but not actually shoot others with them. It seems that guns have taken their own effect but they have not brought any physical harm to human beings through such a method, which is really an idealized state for gun use. So it can be easily imagined that if the unrestrained freedom of gun use is prevented, then guns will sooner or later be used for emergency situations and they will only be used for their symbolized meaning without causing any physical harm as a matter of fact. 

IV. Gun control should not be strictly conducted if taking human beings’ civil rights into consideration. 

However, when some people are insisting that gun control should be strictly conducted for the aforementioned reasons or others as have not been referred to, others view that gun control should not be strictly conducted if taking human beings’ civil rights into consideration. Those who are in approval of such opinion deem that it is their right and undeniable freedom guaranteed by the Constitution to defend themselves and their property lawfully with necessary weaponry (Merino, 2013, p. 130). And guns are their first top priority to be applied as weaponry and they consider that guns can be really effective to be taken as necessary weaponry so that they can actually achieve their own goal. For some people, guns can greatly give them a sense of security and they will be themselves when they are with a gun. While the case will be completely different if they are deprived of their own gun and they will not be in state without their own gun. Furthermore, it can make individuals regain the confidence in protecting their private property and in rebelling toward any unequal issues occurring in their daily life from the government or other parties. In this sense, guns have actually transferred to be the source of their courage and confidence to encounter the approaching difficulties. 

V. Coclusion

To sum up, gun control should definitely be conducted as its advantages outweigh its disadvantages and human beings can benefit more from gun control. But what has to be mentioned is that gun control should be conducted under a suitable extent so as not to deprive human beings of their tools to fight for their own civil rights. Only in this way can gun control be played to its full value and human beings can benefit the most from within.
